Ruth Louise Houston, 72, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at The University of Toledo Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1953, at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, to her proud parents, the late Julian and Esther (Sattler) Bockelman.
Ruth attended Napoleon City Schools, graduating from Napoleon High School in 1972. Her adult working life was spent as a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving many years at Heartland of Waterville.
She was preceded in death by former husbands, Paul R. McDougle and Richard G. Wiles.
She was the loving mother of Ryan (Laura) McDougle and Shannon McDougle, who she supported with enthusiasm in all their endeavors. Ruth was the proud grandmother to Cody and Tyler McDougle.
Ruth was loved by her siblings, John A. Bockelman, Sarah (Wilbur) Oudman, and Mark Bockelman; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends and family will be received at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, from 3-7 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at the same location. Internment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon.
Memorials may be made to Let's Build Beds of Waterville, Ohio, in Ruth's memory.
