Mrs. Ruth Marie Johnson

Ruth M. Johnson, 82, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
She was born June 9, 1941 in Belknap, Illinois, the daughter of John Hiram Crawford and Minabelle (Wallace) Crawford. She married Robert E. "Bob" Johnson on June 31, 1959 in McLeansboro, Illinois and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2020.
Ruth is survived by her two children: Mickey and wife Kendrea Johnson of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Tonya Salomon and husband Ken of Key Largo, Florida; 5 grandchildren: Gilbert (Lara) Johnson, of St. Louis, MO, Yvette Johnson of Springfield, Illinois, Peyton Blodgett of Champaign, Jolene Blodgett of Champaign, and Lily Salomon of Key Largo, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Ruth was owner-operator of Johnson Jewelry and Johnson's Hallmark Store for forty-one years. She was a faithful member of the Marion County Church of Christ in Odin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Per Ruth's wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Honor of Ruth M. Johnson to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Sutherland - Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N.
