Went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the age of 90. Ruth was born September 18, 1935 in New Albany, PA, daughter to the late Beebe and Aza Crawford Allen. She is also preceded by her husband, Delmar "Del"Johnson, brother, Dennis K. Epler, step-son, Kent Johnson.

She is survived by her children, David (Peggy) Epler, Greg (Karen) Johnson, Laurie (Norm) Schoener; six grandchildren; great grandchildren, Emily and David; sister, June Crawford; and several extended family members.

Ruth was a teacher's aid at the Horseheads Central School District for over 15 years. She especially enjoyed raising her children, gardening and doing her yard work. She was a life long member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Horseheads, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Friends of the Horseheads Free Library and the Horseheads Historical Society. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family welcomes relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St., at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11am for Ruth's Memorial Service. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery along side her husband, Del at a later date.
