Ruth Jordan, 98, of Spiceland passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at her residence. She was born December 7, 1922 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Everett Albert and Edna Catherine (Sparks) Neel.
She lived in Spiceland most of her life, after moving there in 1953 from New Castle. Ruth retired from Chrysler Corporation on October 31, 1974 following 30 years of service. Ruth was a former member of the New Castle Church of God. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and doing craft shows. Ruth also enjoyed cooking especially cakes; she was an awesome cake decorator. Most important to Ruth was her family and spending time with them. Every Sunday, Birthday and holiday was celebrated at Ruth's home where the family spent time swimming and just enjoying one another.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Dicken; a son, Bill (Carol) Charles; granddaughters, Ruth Coffey and Cindy (Alan) Brooks; grandsons, Bill Dicken and Sam Charles; 10 great grandchildren, Ashley King, Brittany Charles, Will Dicken, Hannah Brooks, Evan Brooks, Daniel Dicken, Emily Dicken, Ian Charles, Jordan Brooks and Tyler Brooks; 2 great-great granddaughters, Hayden King and Brailey Charles and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard E. Jordan; a daughter, Linda Charles; three sisters; four brothers; and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be 1:00pm Monday July 19, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00am – 1:00pm Monday prior to the service. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Cerebral Palsy of Henry County, 307 Roland Lane New Castle, IN 47362.
