Ruth L. Kaminski

LEICESTER: Ruth (White) Kaminski passed away on to her next journey on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She leaves her husband of more than 50 years, Joseph Kaminski of Leicester and her son, Joseph Kaminski, Jr. of Worcester.

Ruth was dedicated to her Leicester Community. She served as Selectman, Planning Board member and past Chairman, Conservation Commission member and past Chairman, Friends of the Elderly, CERT Team and Moose Hill Water Commission member. She served on the board of Mass Recycle, Mass Association of Conservation Commissions, Society of Human Resources Management, Worcester Regional Transit Authority and Central Mass Regional Planning Commission as past Chairman for 2 years.

Ruth created the "Hug A Cop" Program and raised funds for the first bullet proof body armor for Leicester Police. She was OSHA certified and held numerous safety certificates. She opened the all-volunteer town Recycling Center and chaired its operation for 40 years. It is still in operation today. She served on the Federal Low Level Radioactive Waste Act Committee, the Flood Plain Bylaw Committee and wrote 2 town bylaws: Forest Cutting and Wetlands Protection. She assisted in the revision of the State Wetland Protection Ace twice and revision of the Chapter 91 Regulations. Ruth was dedicated to those overcoming addiction and volunteered at various shelters and recovery houses and she was an original member of the Common Ground Land Trust.
