Ruth Carriebelle (Cogswell) MacDonald, beloved wife of the late James B. MacDonald, passed away, Friday, April 5th, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Boston, she is the belove daughter of the late William R. and Fay Madeline (Bourgios) Cogswell.
Ruth grew up in Dorchester. She married the love of her life James and they settled in Medford to raise their family. A generous, kind and caring person, Ruth was an adoring mother and provider for her husband and children. Ruth could be found doing puzzles, being busy with crafts and spoiling her furry companion, her cat Timmy. Ruth took great care of her children as they grew. She will be deeply missed.
Devoted Mother Dennis R. MacDonald and his wife Kathy of Thornton, NH, Daniel J. MacDonald and his wife Connie of Stoneham, Cindy Thomas and her husband Joseph of Cape Coral, Florida and Julie MacDonald. Cherished grandmother of Tina, Cheryl, Robert, Sandra, Joseph, Lisa, Renee, Craig, Jimmy and Julianne. Great grandmother of Elliot, Lily, Josh, Tyler, Riley, Thomas, Ryan, Bradie, Jojo, Carter, Callie, Cullen, Caitlyn, Camden, Serge, AJ and Kadin. Aunt of many nieces and nephews including Julie Remerez. Ruth is predeceased by all of her siblings. Ruth leaves her dear friend and Guardian Angel, Charlie MacMillan and her beloved cat Timmy.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service in June and date and time will be announced.
