Ruth Mahon Obituary

She was preceded in death by her parents, John "Duke" and Mary (Connolly) Mahon; her brothers, William Mahon and Father Ambrose Mahon; her sisters-in-law, Connie (Bohmer) Mahon and Margaret (Newman) Mahon; and her niece, Betty Lou Mahon, and nephew, Martin Mahon.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Mary) Mahon, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends.
Ruth was a dedicated elementary teacher at Highland Park Elementary School in St. Paul, retiring in 1990. She loved her work and deeply valued education. Ruth also cherished her family and friends, maintained a strong faith, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 31st, at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted, MN, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will take place that morning at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.

Miss Mahon was my wonderful 4th grade teacher at Highland Park Elementary in St. Paul. In recent years, I became friends with her nephew, Pat, through my boyfriend. Wonderful small world. Sorry she didn't make it to 100.
