Ruth Rushing May, a cherished member of the community, passed away on March 12, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Care Center in Paducah, at the age of 88. Born in Livingston County, KY, on November 1, 1936, Ruth’s life was a testament to her deep-rooted connections to her family and her dedication to her community.

Ruth was a beloved matriarch, survived by her two sons, William Leon May and Gaylon Michael May (Cheryl), both of Ledbetter, KY; her daughter, Mona M. Hope, also of Ledbetter; her sister, Rebecca Faye Rushing of Burna, KY,; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As a member of the Ohio Valley Baptist Church in Ledbetter, Ruth found joy and purpose in her faith. She was an active member of the Busy Bee Ladies Club, a Life Member of the Day Auxiliary, and a Charter Member of the Cherished Teddies Club. Ruth's passion for quilting and her renowned coconut cakes endeared her to many. She derived great joy from creating beautiful quilts and sharing her baking prowess with friends and family. May; two sons, Charles Wayne May and Mark Steven May; three daughters, Linda Ruth Davis, Sharon Yvonne McCormick, and Soundra G.
