In January of 1970, Ruth and Walt were married. In 1971, they moved to Red Cloud where they owned and operated the Green Acres Motel until their retirement in 1981. Walt died on February 21, 2003. Ruth was an active member of the Red Cloud community, as she involved herself with a number of civic activities.
