Ruth Mooberry

Pekin- Ruth Mooberry, 93 of Pekin, formerly of Bartonville, passed away at 8:45 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026 at her granddaughter's home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 24, 1932 in Bartonville, a daughter of Herman and Ressie (Howard) Dieckow. She married Gilbert Mooberry on November 13, 1949 in Hennepin, Illinois. He preceded her in death.

Also, preceding her in death were her parents, and daughters, Diana Baggs & Melody Bingham.

Surviving are her children, Gilbert "Gibby" Mooberry; Connie Mooberry; Mark (Teresa) Mooberry, son-in-law, Tom Baggs; two special granddaughters, whom she raised, Jessica Bingham & Mallory Andrews; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Ruth was a stay-at-home mother, during the time her husband, Gilbert was serving in the military, later working at Hostess Bakery Store in the southside of Peoria, and worked as an assistant manager for Folger's in Bartonville, and later retiring from the Circuit Clerk office (Traffic Division) in Peoria County. She was a member of the Bartonville United Methodist Church, she enjoyed cooking & baking, hosting family gatherings at her home on Sunday's, and sitting in her porch swing listening to the birds.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate.
