Marshall Mooberry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center - Morton on Jan. 15, 2026.
EAST PEORIA – Marshall Reid Mooberry, 35, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

He was born on January 2, 1991, in Peoria, Illinois, to Harold and Maryellen Norris Dearden Mooberry.

Carrying his memory are his parents of East Peoria; brother, Morgan (Sam) Mooberry; nephews, Shepherd and Garrett B. Mooberry of Groveland Twp.; and partner and best friend, Kira Santiago of Congerville.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thornton and Edna Mooberry and maternal grandparents, William and Helen Norris. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Garrett W. in 2011 and his beloved dog, Lady in 2025.

Marshall attended Bethel Lutheran School in Morton and graduated from Peoria Christian High School in 2009, where he enjoyed playing soccer. He earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Ag Business from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville in 2013. After college, Marshall worked as a cattle buyer for Strauss Brands, a role that took him to farms and ranches all across the country. Eventually, he came back home to farm and worked at Muller Drive alongside his mom, dad and brother. Marshall took pride in his work and enjoyed being the face of Muller Drive.

Marshall was a natural athlete, self-taught mechanic, carpenter, welder and amazing troubleshooter. Outside of his skills and accomplishments, Marshall will be remembered for his heart. He treasured being a son, brother, and uncle, and he had a gift for being a friend to all.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 18, at the church. Further visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Monday, January 19, prior to the service at the church.

A private family burial will be at the Mooberry Family Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Peoria Christian School with Vision 75 written on the memo line, Bethel Lutheran School of Morton or the Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS).
