Ruth Morrison Obituary
Ruth L. Morrison (nee Johnson), age 90, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Ruth was born on September 9, 1934, in Madison, to the late George and Phyllis Johnson (nee Tozer).
She married John W. Morrison on September 24, 1955. For over 50 years, Ruth worked as a hairdresser in Madison. With her husband John, they spent several years raising Cocker Spaniel pups. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to Las Vegas and cruising in the Caribbean. She took pride in her flower gardens and especially loved roses. She also enjoyed travel, music, reading novels and watching wild birds in her yard. She adored her beloved furry friends, most recently her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and her orange Tabby cat. Her greatest joy was having her house filled with family members during the holidays and other celebrations.
Ruth is survived by son John A. Morrison (Barb), daughter Diane Lazar (Bill), both of Madison, son David Morrison (Kathy), of Wyocena and daughter Lisa Rudrud (David) of La Crosse; eight grandchildren, Stuart Smith (Heather), Ian Smith (Samantha), Ryan Smith (Courteney), Jonathan Morrison (Kristina), Arianna Morrison, Maria Woods (Max), Jessica Morrison, Christian Rudrud and Julia Rudrud; six great-grandchildren, Alice, Griffin, Piper, and Lucie Smith, Hector (Teto) Fonseca and Evangeline Morrison; brother, George Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and sister-in-law, Connie.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave. Madison on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
