Ruth E. Noel, 88 of Charlestown, MD died Saturday, January 10, 2026 at home.
Born in Schuykill County, PA, On October 22, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ellnora (Ditzler) Brocious.
She was an Insurance Underwriter for many years before retiring. In recent years she worked as a retail associate at Walmart before retiring again at age 82. The most important thing in her life was her family. She enjoyed Tuesday mornings with her friends at Young at Heart in Charlestown and feeding the hungry every Thursday afternoon at Nicanor, a feeding ministry in Cecil County. She was a part of a great crew that shows up to do God’s work. She enjoyed meeting people and making desserts.
She was a member of the Signet Chapter 129 of the Order of the Eastern Star out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for 58 years. She served as Past Matron in 1976.
Survived by her son, Samuel J. Noel, Jr. (Mary) two daughters, Ruth Noel Haneman (Paul) and Sheryl Jean Raab. Grandchildren: Jeff Noel (Tiffany), Samuel J. Noel, III (Jennifer), George Raab, Daniel Noel (Laura), Bonnie Letkowski (Steve), Andrew Haneman (Angela), Mary Noel (Dan), Steven Raab (Davina). Great-Grandchildren: Aaron, Gabriel, Julian, Lily, Natalie, Carter, Charlotte, Travis (Sarah), Ryan, Samantha, Luke. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Landon and Andrew.
Also survived by two sisters, Claudine Hollern and Gayle Schmidt, one brother Daniel Brocious (Sherry) and sister-in-law Shirley Brocious and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased in death by her husband, Samuel J. Noel, Sr. who died March 23, 2013.
Family and Friends may call Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 9:00am until 10:00am at Church. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:00am at Bethel Lutheran Church , 24 Cameron Road, North East, MD. There will be a viewing for family and friends beginning at 9:00am.
We will have a graveside service at the cemetery.
Interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem, PA
