Ruth Almond Page, 86, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Ruth was born June 16, 1939 in North Carolina to the late Ollie Almond and the late Lucy Jane Varner Almond.
She was also preceded in death by husband, George Lee Page; brothers, J.D. Almond, William Robert Almond, Paul Melvin Almond, Joel Ollie Almond, Roy Lee Ezra Almond; and sister Grace Morris; great-grandson, Andrew Poplin; and great-granddaughter Morgan Poplin
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 8, at 2:00 pm at Plyler Baptist Church in Albemarle officiated by Reverend Max Vanderburg. Burial will follow at the Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery at 25958 Austin Road, Albemarle.
Ruth was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved teaching Sunday school at her church for many years. Ruth retired at 72 after many decades of working in the textile industry. Ruth enjoyed baking cakes, tending to her garden, sewing, and vacationing to the beach. But Ruth's most cherished moments were all the fond memories she got to make with her family. Although Ruth has left her family and friends behind, they can all find comfort that Ruth is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior forever and always.
Survivors include son, Donald Page, son, Lanny O. (Angela) Page, daughter, Myra (Wayne) Poplin, daughter, Sandra (Kyle) Lambert, grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lundie, Sarah, Amanda, Daniel, Leland, Kimberley, Meghan, and Skylar; and many beloved great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Plyler Baptist Church and/or to Gentiva Hospice of Montgomery County.
