Ruth Marie (Langshaw) Proctor, age 88 of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully at the Chambersburg Hospital on January 7, 2026. Born November 13, 1937, in Painesville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herbert J. and Edythe M. (Peterson) Langshaw.

Ruth grew up in Perry, Ohio and graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. She moved to Franklin County, PA in 1972 and lived there until her death. She worked for the Waynesboro School District as a substitute teacher for many years. During her retirement years, Ruth was active in Franklin County volunteer activities including volunteering for the Waynesboro Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Ruth cherished her family and took great joy in attending her grandchildren’s activities and milestones.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Proctor, whom she married on January 24, 1959. She is survived by two sons, Michael Proctor (Susan) of York Springs, PA and Lance Proctor (Ruth) of Cape Coral, FL; four grandchildren, Matthew, Kenneth (Becca), Hunter, and Caitlin Proctor; and three great-grandchildren, Violet, Nathaniel, and Natalee.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., Chambersburg, PA. Donations can be made to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be offered on her page at www.geiselfuneralhome.com.
