Ruth E. Radcliffe passed away on November 13, 2025, at Newark Rehabilitation, she was 92. She was born in 1933 to Clyde & Mary Walters in Harbor Hills, Ohio. Ruth attended Hebron Elementary School then went to Hebron High School. As a teenager she delivered newspapers, waitressed, babysat and worked at the Buckeye Lake Amusement Park. After graduation from High School she worked at Newark Stove (Roper) then Owens Corning, retiring in 1993. She moved to Cincinnati to live with her nephew, Rex and his family Jan (her primary caregiver) & Courtney. She continued to live with them until 2024 in Katy, TX; then moved to the Embassy of Newark Facility in April of 2024. Ruth loved to do craft projects making ornaments, etc., and gave them as gifts. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church for years.
We want to thank Newark Rehabilitation and their staff for taking care of Ruth, Central Ohio Hospice of Newark for her Comfort Care, Rod & Sally Mason for taking care of things for her when needed; Josh & Beth Walters for helping us too. Charlene Freeman James for being there when we needed legal things done. Also family and friends for their support & prayers during this difficult time.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Walters; father, Clyde Walters of Harbor Hills/Hebron; her husband, Orin Radcliffe, many aunts, uncles, cousins; nephews, Rex, Mike, Kenny, Scott and niece, Susan Henley. Ruth leaves behind many great-nieces, great-nephews and one special great-niece she called a granddaughter, Courtney Walters. She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Carol) Walters; nephews, Vernon (Sandy) Walters, Patrick Walters, Jeff (Cheryl) Walters, cousin Myrna; her best friends, Sandy Jenkins, Sharon and Carole Eppley.
Ruth's family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:30am at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH, and will then meet for lunch, followed by a graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6825 Mt. Vernon Rd. Newark, OH 43055 at 2:00pm. Per the family's wishes, please make any donations to Blessed Sacrament Church, 394 E. Main St., Newark, Ohio 43055.
