Ruth Settlemyer Obituary
Ruth Marie Settlemyer, age 86, of Neosho Falls, Kansas, passed away April 17, 2024, at Medicalodges of Iola, Iola, Kansas. Ruth was born February 14, 1938, in Bronson, Kansas, to Lawrence Bolinger and Edith (Ludlum) Bolinger.
Ruth graduated in 1956 from Moran High School, Moran, Kansas. Ruth and Vernon Settlemyer were married December 11, 1966.
Ruth loved gardening, canning, and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth made the best apple pie anyone ever tasted.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Wilma Gilbert, Irene Clements; and grandson, Derek Settlemyer.
Ruth is survived by son, Don (Kristie) Settlemyer; grandchildren, Casey (Beth) Settlemyer, Camille Settlemyer, Dacoda (Bobbi) Hunt, daughter, Melinda Martin; grandchildren, Kyle Light, Devin Wactor, Dakota Wactor, Kameron (Alenten) Wilson; 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the Geneva Cemetery, Colony, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the Wings of Warriors, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
