Ruth K. Sexton

Ruth K. Sexton, age 95, of Storm lake, Iowa, formerly Newell, Iowa, died January 2, 2023 at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Funeral services will take place Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth was born November 29, 1927 in Crookston, Minnesota, the daughter of Clyde and Lois Kudrle. She attended rural schools in Crookston Township in Polk County Minnesota and Afton Township in Cherokee County Iowa. She graduated from Aurelia High School in 1945 and went on to graduate from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Ruth was united in marriage to Archie Sexton on June 28, 1947. The couple was blessed with a son, Michael.
Ruth was a devoted school teacher for 39 years, most of that time with the Newell School District. She retired in 1988. Ruth loved education and was a member of Sigma Chapter of Delta Cappa Gamma. She served many years on the Newell Library Board. Ruth was active in the Methodist Church serving on several committees. She was also involved in Federated Club and a devoted member of Order of the Eastern Star. Ruth treasured her family and friends and spent many years enjoying summers at Lake Okoboji.
Left to cherish her memory include her son Michael (Julie); grandson Brent (Emily) with great grandchildren August and Archie; granddaughter Christa (Erik) with great grandchildren Carter, Cohen, Cora, and Everly; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Archie; her brother John and sister Margaret.
