Ruth Ann Smith, 82, of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in West Liberty, Ohio on November 13, 1942, a daughter of the late Albert Henry Dubbs and Wanda Amelia (Brownfield) Dubbs.
Ruth Ann is survived by two daughters, Cathy Smith of Quincy and Jill Smith of Jackson Center; sister-in-law, Peggy Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
On December 17, 1965, Ruth Ann married Robert “Bob” Edwin Smith in West Liberty, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2024. In addition to her spouse, Ann was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, sister, and brother-in-law, Linda “Jo” and Larry King. As well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin (Pat) Smith, Nevin Smith, John (Carol) Smith, Joe (Naomi) Smith, Sarah (Bob) Miller, and Gary (Barbara) Kinninger.
Ann spent her life as a true partner to Bob as they farmed and raised their family. She loved to sew, craft, and feed her family and friends. Ann’s greatest gift was to support others. She always remembered her family on their birthdays and never forgot to send a card. She was a dedicated member of the Logan County Cowbells and later the Logan County Cattleman’s, the King’s Daughters and was active in multiple volunteer activities during her children's school years.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, where Pastor Bill Halter will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Rea Cemetery in Bloomfield Township, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Ruth Ann’s memory, to the Logan County 4-H Endowment 1110 Detroit St., Bellefontaine.
