Ruth Somerville

Ruth Evelyn Somerville, age 85, of Perham, MN, died at her home on Monday, October 30, 2006. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the MN State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls, MN, on Monday, November 6.



Ruth was born in Mitchell, SD, on July 1, 1921, the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Aspelund) Hendrickson. While attending Edison High School in Minneapolis, MN, Ruth taught tap dance and continued to do so after graduation. She was united in marriage to Francis John Somerville on July 19, 1941 at St. Charles Church, Minneapolis. John died on May 10, 2001. Ruth's hobbies included sewing, collecting antiques, dancing, and travel. She greatly enjoyed the company of her miniature schnauzer, Fritzi.



Ruth is survived by her daughters, Janice (John) Sioringas, Thousand Oaks, CA; Marilyn (Donny) Irwin, Snyder, TX; and LeAnn Somerville, Blackhawk, SD; her brother, Lavern Hendrickson, Minot, ND; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.



Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; and husband F. John.
