Ruth Spears Obituary
Ruth May Spears, age 84, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the Prestonsburg Health Care Center. She was born on Dec. 30, 1940 to her parents the late Otis Osborn and Bertha Sword Osborn. She was the wife of the late James Russell Spears, a homemaker, and a member of the Upper Toler Church of Christ.
Along with her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Spears, three daughters, Belinda Karen, Kathy, Debra, two brothers, Ed Osborn, Eugene Osborn, and three sisters, Billie Faye Bennett, Yvonne Larson, and Emeline Harland.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Sloan, Deanna (Mike) Gerard, three brothers, Willis (Linda) Osborn, Howard Osborn, Ronald (Sandy) Osborn, two sisters, Mildred Respondeck, Nancy Jude, six grandchildren, James, Destiny, Katie, Harlie, Ivy, Xavier, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Delmar Jervis officiating. Burial will follow in the Sturgill Cemetery at Toler Creek.
