Ruth Ann (Spitler) Fullerton
Ruth Ann (Spitler) Fullerton, age 81, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, November 21, 2022. Ruth Ann was born on Monday, August 11, 1941, in Lebanon to the late Lester Paul Spitler and Florence Irene (Batdorf) Spitler. In addition to her parents, Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her son, Samuel Miles Fullerton, and her sister, Gladys Schoener.
Ruth Ann's survivors include her husband of 60 years, Samuel "Mike" Michael Fullerton; her three children: Theodore "Ted" Fullerton and his wife, Christina, of Wellsville; Andrew "Andy" Fullerton and his wife, Jennifer, of Camp Hill; Geneva "Gen" Gause of New Cumberland; her six grandchildren: Zachary Gause and his fiancé, Maggie Lucas; Dana Valentine and her husband, Garrett; Matthew Fullerton; Bella Fullerton; Alex Fullerton; Jackson Fullerton; her two great-grandchildren: Lucy and Fred Valentine; her three brothers: Lester "Junior" Spitler of Pringle, SD; Thomas "Tommy" Spitler and his wife, Pat, of Schaefferstown; Timothy "Timmy" Spitler and his wife, Lora, of Schaefferstown; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved feline companion, Holly.
Ruth Ann graduated from Schaefferstown High School as part of the class of 1959. She was a longtime member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church. Ruth Ann was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed baking, cooking, and tending to her flower gardens. She liked going to the beach, most especially Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, and enjoyed playing both tennis and golf. Ruth Ann was an avid reader and also took joy in playing cards and doing puzzles with her friends at Harmony at West Shore. More than anything else, Ruth Ann loved her family and savored time spent with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
All are welcome to join Ruth Ann's family at her celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Buhrig's Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory). Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the "Buhrig" parking signs in all of the parking lots. Cremation was private.
