Ruth Temple Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beth Israel Memorial Chapel - Boynton Beach on Mar. 2, 2026.
Ruth Temple was born August 2, 1937 in Boston and passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 25, 2026 in Akron, Ohio, surrounded by loving family members.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Hannah and Harry Sandler, doting husband of 63 years, Melvin, her sister, Lenore Glauberman, and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Ruth was the loving mother of Andrea (Rob) Minster, Sharon (Dale) Schiff and Michael (Karen) Temple. She also got great joy from grandchildren Stacey (Devin) Duval, Emily (Mike) Prioletti, Kevin (Lori) Minster, Robyn (Paul) Revelson, Samantha (Josh) Beren and Alex Temple, and great grandchildren Jacob, Jocelyn, Benjamin, Allison, Charlotte, Sierra, Maxine, and Graham. She is also survived by her brothers Paul (Barb) Sandler and Jay (Cathy) Sandler.

Family was very important to Ruth throughout her life. Ruth's family would also like to thank her loving caregiver of 4 years, Christine Martinez, who helped Ruth enjoy the final years of her life to the max despite her long battle with dementia.

Ruth was born in the Boston area and moved to Akron a couple years later where she and Mel raised their family. While in Akron, Ruth was an interior designer and worked for several large furniture retailers. She later built a successful business with her daughter Andrea, selling window treatments. Once the kids were grown and Melvin retired, Ruth and Mel moved to Boca Raton for the sun and golf and the Country Club life. Ruth especially loved entertaining the grandkids and great grandkids in Boca, as well as her many Florida friends.
