Ruth Uetz Obituary
A funeral service for Ruthy Uetz will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Preston officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City, Iowa.
Visitation will be at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Ruth Ann Uetz, the daughter of Ernest and E. Annie (Harris) Uetz, was born March 30, 1944 in Charles City, Iowa. She attended school in Charles City and graduated from Charles City High School in 1962.
Ruth Ann Uetz was known as "Ruthy" to her friends, and she was the most engaging personality at her job with First Security Bank for over 30 years. She was very fashionable and always dressed to the "T". Ruthy was a wonderful friend, daughter, sister, aunt and supporter for all of her loved ones.
Ruthy was generous to everyone she knew and quick to make friends. She was an accomplished cook and famous for her cookies. Ruthy was a faithful daughter to her parents, a loving sister to Barb, Russ and Dick and her sisters-in-law. One of the family's fondest memories of Ruthy at home was her singing songs from The Sound of Music. She also loved time spent with her white, furry, four-legged, affectionate puppy, Josie, her loving pet.
Ruthy was very loving to children of all ages, especially to her Sunday school classes. Ruthy had many children even though she wasn't a wife or mother. She was known for showing her generosity and empathy even to those she had barely met. Her faith in her Savior, Jesus, was the most precious to her.
Living family members include her two brothers: Richard Uetz and Russell (Debbie) Uetz; sister, Barbara Uetz; nieces and nephews: Darien (Julie) Uetz, Eric (Melissa) Uetz, Shelly Uetz and Amber (Brian) Speas; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; her beloved furry companion, Josie; along with other extended family members and numerous friends.
Ruthy was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Dirk Uetz; and sister-in-law, Kay Uetz.
