First Lady Ruth Anne Vicks was one of five cherished offspring, born to the late Moses and Clementine
Brown in the heart of Brooklyn, NY, on September 16, 1940. Her earthly journey gracefully concluded on
November 27, 2023, at the blessed age of 83, as Yahweh beckoned her into his spiritual presence.
She was born and raised in the vibrant landscape of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. From age two, she
resided on the very block that wove the threads of Yah's purpose with Earl Vicks, who was four years
old. In Yahweh's predestined time, she met Earl Vicks in 1955, when she was 15, and he, 17. After Ruth
Anne graduated from Maxwell High School in 1958, she and Earl wed on September 27, 1958. A brief
sojourn at the Book of the Month Club preceded her noble commitment to homemaking, later followed
by a chapter at the Dover Air Force Base, where she gracefully served as an administrative aide.
At a young age, she and her esteemed spouse, General Overseer Earl Vicks, Sr., consecrated their hearts
to Yahweh, through water immersion. They were baptized in the name of Yahshua the Messiah, and
were of the founding members of the International Brotherhood of Yahshua's Disciples for the Finishing
Work, Inc., and have been steadfast since its inception.
As the First Lady of the International Brotherhood of Yahshua's Disciples, Ruth Anne rendered
unwavering service, not only as the assembly's scribe for over five decades but also as the culinary
architect whose delectable creations graced the assembly's tables during feast days and special events.
Her devotion to the worship of Yahshua's HOLY NAME was manifested through her diligence to rise early
in the morning for Sabbath Services. A matriarchal presence was displayed both spiritually and naturally,
and it was shown through her many acts of love and kindness. Her love enveloped the family, their
home was an open sanctuary to countless family members across the passing years.
Her earthly departure was preceded by her children: Deacon Earl Vicks, Jr., Cheryl Anne Vicks, Timothy
Paul Vicks, and Lydia Vicks, alongside her sisters Dolores Mitchell and Arnecia Brown. She is survived by
the steadfast presence of her husband, General Overseer Earl Vicks, Sr., and an esteemed lineage
including her children, Sister Miriam Wilson, Sister Leah Dickerson, Minister Karen Y. Vicks, Overseer
Caleb Vicks, Sr. (First Lady Minister Latricia Vicks), Minister David Vicks, and Sister Donna Morgan (Odai
Morgan), her legacy continues in the embrace of 18 grandchildren Domonique Vicks, Anthony Cooper,
Latisha Battle, Lianna Frazier (Zaire Frazier), Deacon Michael Dickerson, Deacon Caleb Vicks, II, Bobbi
Maleah Dickerson, Joshua Vicks, Calah "Sarah" Vicks, Naomi Vicks, Rachel Vicks, Qumar Davis, Timothy
Vicks, Paul Vicks, Jacob Vicks, Jordan Vicks, Matthew Morgan, and Michael J. Morgan. Her 5 great-
grandchildren, Dezasari Isaiah Piper, Amani Green, Amiyah Green, Alani Alsup and Ezekiel Alsup. Her
brother Walter Brown (Yvonne Brown), her sister Della Brown and one sister-in-law Saundra Vicks.
A vast expanse of nieces, nephews, and an extended family, both bound by blood and spiritual kinship,
mourn her temporal parting, yet celebrate the eternal spirit of First Lady Ruth Anne Vicks.
