Ruth Dobbins Wade

Ruth Dobbins Wade, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her home in Bryant, AL, surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on Tuesday, November 26th at 2:00 PM ET in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Brother Jim Hixon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 PM ET until the start of the service. Following the service, Ruth will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

Ruth was a kind and loving individual who cherished her family deeply. Her love for her family was evident throughout her life. Ruth worked for many years at Dobbins Supermarket. She also used to teach school at Mount Olive Elementary. Her faith was an important part of her life, as she was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Dale (Billie) Wade and Alan (Ann) Wade; daughters, Christi (Anthony) Atchley and Melody (Marc) Skinner; her sisters, Laverne Stephenson, Joyce Atchley, Glenda Ginn, and Delray Wright. Ruth also leaves behind her beloved brothers, Roy and Troy Dobbins; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and extended family members who will miss her greatly.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ruby Dobbins; her husband, James A. Wade; her sister, June Cagle; and her brother, Leo Dobbins.

Ruth’s warm spirit and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
