Ruth Ann Miller Weese, 86, of Webster Springs passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born August 30, 1937 in Bolair she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Gladys Sill Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Mitchell Weese; grandson, Mitchell Sanson; and siblings: Harvey Miller and Carolyn Edwards.
She attended Sand Run Church where she was very active in their Vacation Bible School, holding many titles such as director, program designer, and teacher. She was also involved in the Sand Run Busy Bees, which was her community 4-H association. Ruth Ann was also a graduate of Glenville State College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching and taught the students of Webster County. It was a major highlight of her career to have seen her former students succeed. She was also a proud member of the WV Retired Teacher’s Association. She had the gift of a green thumb and was able to nurse flowers quickly back to health. When she wasn’t taking care of her flowers, family, and students, she enjoyed keeping her brain sharp by doing word searches.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Cindy Weese, Maxann Weese, and Maxetta Gadd (and her favorite son-in-law, Chris); grandchildren: Kara Kasekamp (Gary), Stephanie “Stephan” Carpenter, Timothy Seibel (Angela), Michelle Taylor, Michael Sanson (Amanda), Cody Taylor (Kayley), Cole Taylor (Jerrica), Pryce Gadd (Jenna), Gracen Gadd, and Rye Gadd; great-grandchildren: Finn (Haley), Alivia, Bryson, Zachary, Brooke, Connor, Carleigh, Elizabeth, Jersey, Mackynzie, Allena, and Wrenlee; and one great-great-grandson, Weston; her special caregivers, for whom the family is extremely thankful, Ann Meadows, Amanda Dillon, and Selena Cochran; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be held 6pm, Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Rev. James M. Cowger and Sister Rachel Isabell officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation from 4pm-6pm at the funeral home on Sunday evening prior to the service. Burial will be held 10AM, Monday, August 5, 2024 at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.
