Ruth Winstead Obituary
Mrs. Ruth L. Lipscomb Winstead, age eighty-two, departed this life and entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Maria Parham Health Care Hospital in Henderson, North Carolina. She was born in Person County September 19, 1942 to the late John Lipscomb and Sadie McCain Lipscomb and was a member of Old Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings: Alice Grice and Gyrod Grice.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, children: Harry Ray Winstead, Jr. of Bronx, New York, Zelda Winstead of Burlington, North Carolina, Pamela W. Daye (Keith) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Wayne E. Winstead of Georgia; grandchildren: Erin Hamlett (Daidron) of Roxboro, Aleia Vincent of Mebane, North Carolina, Camille Daye, also of Roxboro and Tevin Vincent, also of Mebane; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Wayne Lipscomb of West Covina, California, John Lipscomb (Dorotha) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Duward Grice (Rita) of Abingdon, Maryland, Mary Grice of Roxboro and Lillian Grice of Durham, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 1:00pm at Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home with Bishop Clevie Brandon, Pastor at Compassionate Ministries, Incorporated, providing the eulogy and the Reverend Dr. Alfred Faulkner, Pastor at Elijah Grove Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1111 Oak Grove Mt. Zion Road, Roxboro, North Carolina 27574. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home during the time from 12:00pm to 1:00pm when her body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
At other times, the family will receive visitors at the home of her daughter, 3582 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, North Carolina 27574.
