Ruth Young, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, just one day shy of her 90th birthday.
Born on September 22, 1935, in Arvada, Colorado, Ruth grew up on her family’s farm, where she learned the values of hard work, resilience, and faith that guided her throughout her life. She pursued her calling to serve others by attending nursing school in Chicago, Illinois, beginning a lifelong career in healthcare. Ruth worked with dedication and compassion as a nurse until her retirement, touching countless lives with her kindness and steady presence.
Beyond her career, Ruth found deep joy and purpose in her faith and her church community. As a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada, she gave generously of her time and talents, always eager to support others and live out her strong Christian values.
Ruth was the proud mother of three sons and leaves behind the following family: Richard & his wife Kellie, Robert and his wife Robin, and Ronald and his wife Adrea. She delighted in her role as grandmother to six grandchildren: Christopher, Ariadne, Bjorn, David, Lena, and Bruce, and cherished the blessing of her seven great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Juliette, Noah, Grayson, Violet, Ruby, and Bjorn Alexander, with one more soon to arrive along with many nieces, nephews.
Family was the heart of Ruth’s life, and her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue through the generations she nurtured
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada, with details to be shared with family and friends.
Ruth will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her caring spirit, and the love she poured into everyone she met.
