Mrs. Rutha Lean Paschel

PASCHEL, Mrs. Rutha Lean - Age 92, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Mission Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, August 21, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Rev. Marlon Lowe, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mrs. Paschel will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing. Mrs. Rutha Lean Paschel was born March 1, 1931 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Dorsey and Rutha Lowe. Rutha attended school in Pine Bluff. She was a resident of Flint, Michigan and retired in 1994 from AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors Corporation. Rutha loved watching movies, cooking, and going to church until her health began to fail. She also loved to go to Pine Bluff, AR to visit her relatives and most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Rutha joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, after moving to Flint she became a member of Blackwell AME Zion Church and later became a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Rutha Lean Paschel leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Mae Lois (Chester) Cash, Janice Murphy, all of Flint and Pamela Paschel of Sacramento, CA; 3 sons, Zebedee Paschel, Kevin Paschel and Craig Paschel, all of Flint; great-great-grandson whom she raised, Jermaine Jordan; 8 grandchildren, Makosa Paschel of Flint, Deshawn Holmes of Grand Blanc, MI, Keno Paschel, Kevin Paschel Jr., both of Flint, Kia Paschel of California, Tianna Paschel and Crystal Paschel, both of Oakland, CA; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Flossia Kye of Little Rock, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Paschel was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey and Rutha Lowe; sister, Lucile Avery; 2 brothers, Lenord Lowe and Allen Lowe. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren Hospice and Mission Pointe for their services, Pastor Wallace Hill III and the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church family for their prayers, Rev. Marlon Lowe, her nephew for praying at her bedside every day.
