Ms. Ruthie Paunese Hembree, 70, of 1859 Mt. Lebanon Road, Pauline, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Ms. Hembree was born January 9, 1955, in Spartanburg, a daughter of the late M.H. "Bud" Hembree and Arlee Lawson Hembree. She was a graduate of Dorman High School, Spartanburg Technical College and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. Ms. Hembree was a lifelong member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the Pioneers of AT&T, and a member of the Bakers Dozen at the Clemson Extension. Ms. Hembree and her sisters helped with stuffing pillows for Heart Patients at SRMC.
Ms. Hembree is survived by a sister, Joyce Hembree of Pauline, brothers, Otis Hembree and his wife Susie of Pauline, Charlie Hembree of Moore and Willis Hembree of Pauline. She also survived by nephews, Travis Hembree, Wesley Hembree (Heather), Gregg Hembree (Kerri), Jason Hembree, Bryan Hembree (Janey), grand nephews, Bryson Hembree, Caden Hembree, Sawyer Hembree, Parker Hembree, and Braylin Hembree; and grand nieces, Laura Hembree, and Katie Caughman. Ms. Hembree was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lee Hembree.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 25, 2025, conducted by Rev. Norman Band and Rev. Jimmy Farmer, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the services.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Hembree, Wesley Hembree, Bryson Hembree, Sawyer Hembree, Gregg Hembree and Caden Hembree.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Church Rd., Buffalo, SC 29321 or to Bogansville Methodist Church, 4052 Buffalo – West Springs Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353.
The family is at the home of her brother, Otis Hembree, 150 Hembree Road, Pauline, SC 29374.
