Ruth Potter, 83, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at StoneBridge Health Campus. She was born on August 16, 1942, in Bedford, Indiana, to the late Ed Turpen and Evalou (Wray) Porter. In 1963, she married Dennis M. Potter in Illinois, and he preceded her in death.

Ruth worked as a secretary for Bedford North Lawrence High School. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano, and she especially loved driving her golf cart.

Ruthie was a devoted child of God who followed His teachings throughout her life. Jesus was her comfort and strength. She fought a courageous eight-month battle, and her wish to meet the Lord was fulfilled. She will be deeply missed. Our love and God's blessings go with her always.

Survivors who will forever cherish her memory include her two sons, John (Debby) Potter and Michael (Dawn) Potter; grandchildren Shayne, Johnny (Savannah), Ashton (Kyle), Dennis, Logan (Garrett), and Kyle (Kara); and great-grandchildren Tallin, Eli, Gavan, Lexi (Clayton), Miley, Jensen, Charley, Isaiah, Emsley, Theo, Declan, and Paisley. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gay Turner and Judy Turpen.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Potter; her parents, Ed and Evalou Turpen; and her grandchildren Amanda Lee, Aiden, Brayden, and John.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana, with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating.
