Ruthie Schrock, 67 of Moline, formerly of Mercer County, died at her daughter’s home on August 6, 2025. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12th from 12 to 2 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. A time to share memories will follow visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Peniel Cemetery, Joy, Illinois. Memorials may be left to the family.
Ruthie Catherine was born on January 11, 1958, to Joseph P. & E. Jean (McGlaughlin) Schrock. She dedicated her life to caring for others, especially her family. Her family was her life. Ruthie loved all arts and crafts. She could do anything, painting, drawing, crocheting to just name a few. She enjoyed good cartoons, especially, Snoopy and Garfield, and her personal favorite movie was Pirates of the Caribbean. Ruthie didn’t like sports, but was a fan of the Chicago Bears.
Those left to carry on Ruthie’s legacy include her children: Jeannie & James Clark; Melanie & Rocky Hall and Janis Peterson and companion, Nate Terrill; Grandchildren: Latasha James III, Allison, Tyress, Rocky II, Malachi, Tyler, Marissa and Blake; great-grandchildren: Rosalie, Lucas, Eryx and one lovingly expected Aaliyah; siblings and spouses: Joseph “Joedy” & Lynda Schrock, Judy Dillie, Steve & Cindy Schrock, Dan & Linda Schrock, Jack & Nancy Schrock, Christine Junis and Dave & Suzan Schrock. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Wesley Junis. Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Marjorie Schrock, a foster brother, Jack Stirn, grandchildren, Ethan and Alyssa and a great-granddaughter, Aviyah.
