Evan N. Schrock, 65, of Oakland, MD, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his home. Born on June 3, 1960, he was the son of the late Norman and Lena (Yoder) Schrock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy N. Schrock.
He was baptized in his youth upon his confession of faith and was a faithful member of the Gortner Amish Church. The word of God was precious to him and he greatly enjoyed singing. On June 7, 1984, he was married to Viola (Beachy) Schrock, who survives. Also surviving are his seven children, Edith married to Mahlon Peachey, Philip married to Margaret (Beachey), Elizabeth, Andrew, Kenneth, Jonathan, and James all of Oakland, MD; two grandchildren, Abraham and Jemima; six siblings, Abbie Kauffman and husband Joe of Bedford, PA, Raymond Schrock and wife Barbara of Greenville, TN, Emma Schrock of Oakland, MD, Ezra Schrock and wife Ruth of Oakland, MD, Albert Schrock and wife Lois of Barton, MD, Edward Schrock of Oakland, MD; his father in law, Peter Beachy of Oakland, MD; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all those who visited and called Evan during his declining health.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, at the Gortner Amish Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10 AM in the church with Bishop Alvin Beachy officiating. Interment will follow in the Gortner Amish Church Cemetery.
