On May 3, 2023 Ruthle Kate Smith (nee Cooper) passed away; devoted wife of the late William Erman Smith; beloved mother of Delores Ann Pickle and her husband Donald Ray Pickle, Sr.; loving grandmother of Donald Pickle Jr. and his wife Lora Rakowski-Pickle, and Lori Snyder and her husband Ronald Snyder; cherished "Gury" of William Snyder, Madison Pickle, Marissa Snyder, Megan Snyder, Gwendalyn Pickle, Gracie Pickle and Ellie Pickle; loving daughter of the late Russell Morral Cooper and the late Kate Hendrick Cooper; loving step-daughter of the late Mary Cooper; dear sister of Carl Cooper, Fred Cooper, Herb Cooper, Mary George, Joanne Watts, Betty Gordon, the late Dan Cooper, the late Randy Teter, the late Virginia Rose Rexroad, the late Othetta Conrad, and the late Geneva Champ.
A funeral service will be held at the Essex United Methodist Church, 524 Maryland Avenue, Essex, MD 21221 on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1 pm. Visiting hours will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 from 2 - 4, and 6 - 8 pm, along with visiting hours at Essex United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 from 12 noon - 1 pm.
Interment at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens
