Ryan Mitchel Ebert, 31, suddenly and unexpectedly left us on July 21, 2024. Born and raised in Accord, NY, he is the son of Scott M. Ebert and grandson of Lucille Ebert. Ryan is survived by the love of his life, Erin Moylan. His grandmother Lucille Ebert. His father Scott Ebert and stepmother Amber Sickler. His sister Lynette Ebert and his brother David Ebert. His stepsisters Eva Ostrander and Shyann Sickler. His aunts Anita Gill, Ann Lewis and cousin Breeanna Ebert. As well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Milford Ebert and his uncle Christopher Ebert. Ryan’s interests and passions were wide, and he tended to excel in most everything he touched. Growing up, Ryan spent his time skating and working as a skateboard instructor at Skate Time 209. When he wasn’t on a board, he was memorizing his textbooks, baseball statistics or music collections ranging from Martin Denny & Herb Alpert to the Pixies and Built to Spill. Ryan knew just about every song there was. His sharp wit and critic piqued an interest in film leading him to pursue a film degree from Parsons. Ryan’s lease on life was set to capturing the things and people around him. He worked in public television filming board meetings inTivoli & Red Hook. Ryan loved animals and hoped to have sheep, goats and horses at some point in his life. He loved his two kitties, Crosby and Neil, and would tell stories and show pictures to anyone he could. Ryan was passionate about work and put his whole heart into everything he did. He loved to work with his hands, he loved to grow things, he loved to pull weeds. A natural entrepreneur, Ryan was constantly forging his own path, driven by his artistry and altruism. Ryan is a pioneer in the NY cannabis industry and a pillar to his community in Red Hook. In Ryan’s honor, a memorial will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at Humiston Funeral Home from 4pm to 6pm with service beginning at 6pm. A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 1pm to 3pm at 7536 N Broadway, Red Hook, NY 12523. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ryan’s name to the New Paltz Skate Park project. Donations may be made through newpaltzfoundation.org.
