RYAN R. GABEY
Age 45, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at his home in Frankfort.
Ryan is survived by his loving family, wife, Katherine Gabey (Fingello), daughters, Frances Gabey, Anna Gabey, father, Richard H. Gabey Jr., siblings, Dean (Rebecca) Gabey, Joe (Erin) Gabey, niece, Elliot Gabey and nephew Vance Gabey.
Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Gabey (Mack).
Ryan was a History Teacher at Lincoln-Way West High School and greatly enjoyed sharing his knowledge of history with his family, friends, students and anyone who would listen. He was a rugby enthusiast and played rugby at Indiana University and continued his passion thru coaching and teaching the sport in the Lincoln-Way area community. Ryan was also a football coach at Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way West High Schools during his teaching career. He was known as a devoted father who enjoyed watching his daughters participate in sports; especially Annie's hockey games and being the best DJ at the games.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 177 Luther Lane, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 from 9:30 AM until time of the funeral service at 10:00 AM. I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Gabey was my government teacher in highschool and I really enjoyed his class, and I always appreciated his light heartedness and our shared love for Friends.
