Ryan S. Josephson, 44, of Columbia Heights, MN, passed away on August 22 at Mercy Hospital ICU from complications of pneumonia. He was born on June 28, 1979, in Menomonie, WI, to Steve and Diane Josephson.
When Ryan was six years old, the family moved to Onalaska, WI. Ryan graduated from Onalaska High School in 1998. He then attended WWTC in La Crosse and Minneapolis Community College.
Ryan lived in Columbia Heights, MN, and was the assistant general manager for Bowlero Corporation in Eden Prairie. He enjoyed downhill skiing and would take yearly ski trips to various ski resorts. He also enjoyed biking the trails near Minneapolis and traveling (his favorite spot being Maui). Ryan had a big heart, especially when it came to the family's Great Dane Cora.
Ryan is survived by his parents Steve and Diane Josephson of Menomonie, his sister Ashley of San Francisco, his aunts and uncles: Lee Smeltzer, River Falls, WI; Paul and Jo Sachs, Neenah, WI; Sharyl Wolf, Sioux Falls, SD; Court and Barb Sand and Rod and Trudy Smeltzer, Menomonie, WI; and Tim Josephson, Meridian, ID. He is further survived by cousins Jody Pederson, Stacy Smeltzer, Stephanie Erickson, Chris Sachs, Tim Wolf, Christy Jo Rockwell, Kim Nemec, Aaron Sand, Megan Tkachuk, Kris Smeltzer, and Lacyn Josephson.
Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell and Norma Smeltzer; paternal grandparents, Bill and Marlys Josephson; uncles, Scott Josephson, Richard Smeltzer, and Terry Wolf; and cousin, Jason Smeltzer.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 29 at Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Stephen Hilding officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at Wakanda Park Pavilion in Menomonie. To honor Ryan, he would want nothing more than for you to be kind to and accepting of everyone.
