Ryan Macdonald passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the South Health Campus in Calgary at the age of 32 years.
Ryan was born in Calgary and raised in Black Diamond until the age of 12 where he moved to Calgary with his family. They lived in Montgomery for a short time and then moved to the community of Varsity where he attended St. Francis High School. After High School, Ryan began painting in the construction world, where he became very proficient. In Ryan's mid-20s, he encountered a number of health challenges that have persisted since. Ryan loved the outdoors, spending as much time as he could camping, fishing and spending time around a campfire. He was a dedicated father who loved his children, teaching them and spending time with them. They were the light of his life. We will miss his late night talks, funny videos, his huge hugs and him sharing his love.
Ryan will be dearly missed by his mother Tanya MacDonald; his father Gary Lamb (Connie); his partner Jasmin; his daughter Sophia; son Haeven; and stepchildren Gracie, Alex and Liam. Ryan will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Stephanie MacDonald, Deana Lamb, Virginia Lamb (John Goodman) and Wren Lamb; nieces and nephews Izayah, Lila, Audrey and Quinn; and many other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held for Ryan at Pierson's Funeral Service (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10:30 am, with a visitation starting at 9:30 am. A reception will follow at the Trellis Centre, 6012 Rundlehorn Drive NE at 2:00 pm.
