Ryan Mosier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hallowell & James Funeral Home - Countryside on Mar. 9, 2025.
Ryan D. Mosier, 48, of Addison, Illinois, passed away peacefully and entered his eternal home on March 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, seeing the situation as an opportunity to grow in faith and in unity with family and friends.
Ryan was born on June 8, 1976, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to John Mosier and Linda (née DeCello) Mosier. He spent his childhood in Honduras, attending the American School of Tegucigalpa. It was during his teenage years that Ryan discovered his love for competitive equestrian show jumping, a passion he pursued with great dedication. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from St. Louis University, he went on to build a successful corporate career in aviation. In 2009 he received a Master's in Business Administration from NYU Stern School of Business. He made Chicago his home in 2010. He loved traveling the world to visit family and friends.
Known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and deep gratitude, Ryan will be remembered for his loyal friendships, his genuine concern for the underprivileged, his playful sense of humor, and his love for household pets.
Ryan is survived by his loving parents, John and Linda Mosier; his brother, Justin Mosier; and his sister, Liana (Adam) Axley. He will also be deeply missed by countless other family members, friends, colleagues, and classmates who were fortunate to know him and who held him close in their hearts.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 West 55th Street, Countryside, IL.
Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 25th at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church, 21892 Gudith, Woodhaven, MI 48183. Inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery nearby. Afterwards family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at our family's favorite pizzeria in Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make memorial donations in Ryan's name to Stand Up To Cancer (standuptocancer.org) and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA.org).

Lo siento tienen mi solidaridad y condolencias.... Ryan was always a gentleman and profoundly kind. I knew him as a fraternity brother. May your family rejoice in knowing he is at rest and awaits your eternal love and presence.

Ryan was a wonderful friend to me from the first day I met him at SLU all those years ago and we stayed in contact even after we went our separate ways. He came out to Cincinnati to celebrate my 21st birthday and he put me up in his place in Dallas for a night as I drove out west. Always friendly and welcoming. He had a comfort about him that made it easy to love him. I miss him dearly and can at least find some peace knowing he is not suffering anymore. I am better off having had him in my life and I will always cherish my time with him.

In loving memory of a wonderful person.

I knew Ryan from United and feel so lucky to have known such a thoughtful, funny, talented, kind coworker and friend.

May the love of family, friends and God guide you during this difficult time.

Dear Linda & John,

I wanted to share a few thoughts to thank you for the amazing person you raised and shared with the world. Ryan was a source of light and his spirit glows eternal.

This life doesn´t always have to make sense, because this feels so unfair. All we can do is cherish every moment with kind true friends while we are here. Ryan has been one of those people for me over the past 2 decades. He was one of the founding members of my "angel team" when I needed a few angels here on earth.

The kindness that Ryan always showed me, especially through some dark times, is a true testament to the wonderful person he is. His generosity with his friendship, his thoughtful and caring nature, and opening his home to me and my Bernie Cat after the infamous Dallas burglary will live in my heart forever. I think we made a good team and I will miss him immensely.

Love to the whole Mosier family,
Jody
