It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, friend and devoted father Ryan James Shook on December 15, 2023. Born in Dallas, Texas on March 15, 1988, he is the son of Jim and Michelle Shook, the brother of Lexie and father of Charlotte.
From his earliest years, Ryan was intelligent, curious and athletic. He was an honors graduate of Dallas Jesuit College Prep, the University of Notre Dame, and SMU Cox School of Business Executive MBA program (May 2023). His professional career focused on IT project management and business systems consulting.
Along with his academic and business achievements, he was a passionate sportsman, skilled in fishing, golf and tennis. He was a friend to all, with his outgoing personality, quick wit, and adventurous spirit – he even did a stint with stand-up comedy.
But mostly, he will be remembered for his loyalty, kind heart, and friendly personality. One longtime friend describes Ryan as, a man of solid core values.
He was smart, charming, thoughtful – a class act and always dependable.
Ryan's life was too short. He will be profoundly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Michelle Shook, sister Alexandra (Lexie), brother-in-law William Archer, daughter Charlotte Shook; also his uncles and aunts and many cousins.
