Sherry Lynn Barnes, age 79 of Frisco, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2026, surrounded by her family at home.
Sherry was born on July 17, 1946, in Snyder, Texas to parents L.C. and Edith Lankford. A woman of strong faith, she loved the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of His grace. She was devoted to her family and found joy in volunteering at her daughter's schools, in her community, and serving in her church as a Sunday School teacher. Those who knew her will remember her for her faith, creativity, strength, kindness, love and compassion.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Steve Barnes; daughters, Jennifer Buck (Taft) and Kate Buehler (Rob); three grandchildren, Chandler (Cole), Ashleigh, and Will; one great-grandson, Wells; sisters Donna Nehring and Brenda Griffin; and twelve nieces and nephews. Her family was a great blessing in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. Lankford and Edith Lankford Moore; brother Cecil Lankford, sisters Jean May Morris and Joy Brown; and two nieces.
A burial and graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at Old Celina Cemetery in Celina, Texas, with a celebration of life to follow.
