Ryan Spencer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Better Place Funeral & Cremation Services on Dec. 30, 2025.
Ryan Spencer passed away on December 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was a devoted father to two amazing daughters, a loving and dedicated son, and a brother who could always be counted on. Above all else, Ryan was someone who showed up-and that simple, steadfast truth defined his life.
Showing up meant different things to different people. For some, it was Ryan on the other end of the phone, offering a listening ear and steady support from miles away. For others, it meant him boarding a plane to cross the country, tools in hand, ready to help with home repairs or whatever task needed doing. Sometimes it was as simple as driving across town to share a beer, a laugh, or a moment of understanding with a friend. No matter the distance, inconvenience, or circumstance, Ryan was there.
That same sense of commitment and service shaped his professional life. He first served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, carrying forward the values of discipline, loyalty, and selflessness. Later, after settling in Colorado, he continued to live those values through his work with oil companies, where his reliability, work ethic, and willingness to step in wherever needed earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Ryan's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched simply by being present-by showing up when it mattered most. He will be remembered for his strength, generosity, quiet dependability, and the deep love he held for his daughters and family. He leaves behind a community of people who are better for having known him and who will carry his example forward in their own lives. Ryan was an outstanding Marine and served his country with dignity, respect, honor and humanity. Ryan was beloved by his family, friends and long standing Marine buddies from his garrison and overseas service. Ryan Spencer was deployed to Iraq during 2004 to 2005, completing two back-to-back tours at Camp Korean Village, Blue Diamond and Fallujah in Iraq, Al Anbar province. His bravery and leadership ability in Iraq earned him a meritorious promotion in Iraq, a honor reserved for very few Marines. He served the Marines a total of approximately 10 years on active duty with his highest rank of Staff Sergeant in various leadership positions in motor pool operations, trainer and Recruiter. Ryan was also a hardworking water engineer at Chervron in his civilian position after his service. He was beloved by his family, friends and fellow Marines alike. Semper Fi, Ryan, you will always be remembered and cherished. Sincerely, Hefta Family.
