Jerrold Dwain Spencer was born at home on February 1, 1935, in Harrah, Oklahoma. He died February 3, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jerry graduated from Harrah high school in 1954, and he was on Harrah’s very first football team. He went into the Army from 1957-1959 and he was in the Chemical Corps.
Jerry ran a bulldozer for Trigg Drilling Co. all over the state of Oklahoma before striking out on his own and starting his own dozer business in Harrah. He was a well-known dozer operator in the area. Jerry ran a dozer for over sixty years and retired at age 86. He was an artist with his work. He was a sculptor of the earth.
Jerry enjoyed genealogy, sharing old photos and teaching people about history, keeping in touch with friends and family, Thunder games, telling corny jokes, and generally being ornery and giving people a hard time.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Spencer. He is survived by son Leslie Spencer and daughter-in-law Tracie Spencer of Choctaw, daughter Lisa Spencer and son-in-law Jeronimo Gallegos of Arcadia, daughter Julie Belden and son-in-law Richard Belden of Larkspur CO, son Robert Spencer and daughter-in-law LaNita Riley of Choctaw, granddaughter Sheena Hamlin and husband Aaron Hamlin of Choctaw, grandson Sterling Spencer of Choctaw, grandson Caleb Belden of Larkspur CO, granddaughter Grace Belden of Larkspur CO, step-granddaughter Lynna Forbus and husband Mathew Forbus of Choctaw, step-granddaughter Aidan Riley of Midwest City, great grandson Calvin Hamlin of Choctaw, along with countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial service to be held on February 17, 2026, at 10:00 am at Faith Baptist Church, 142 Dobbs Road, Harrah, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send a donation to the Harrah Senior Citizen Center, 19791 Summers Ave., Harrah, Oklahoma 73045.
