Sabria Francis-Garmo Azzou

Sabria passed away Sunday morning on October 19, 2025, at her home in Southfield Michigan with her youngest children Lahib and Hanan. Sabria was born on April 15, 1933, in Tel Kaif, Iraq to Shosha (Mama Shoshi) and Francis (Mister) Garmo. She was the second youngest of five children:
Archbishop Gorges, Petrus, Sabri and Sabah. She was raised in Tel Kaif and educated in Mosul and Baghdad Iraq and graduated from Baghdad University with a B.S. in Accounting.
She worked for the government for many years as an Accountant in Baghdad. She married Jibrael Sadik Azzou and was a proud mother of 5 children who were raised in Baghdad and moved to Michigan after her husband passed away in 1978.
Sabria is survived by her five children: Wejdan (Nader), Fanar (Matthew), Raghdan (Lisa), Lahib, and Hanan; six grandchildren: Mujan, Maysam, Auguste, Maxwell, Louis and Sophia; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Garmo.
Sabria was a devout catholic who frequently attended church. Her family meant everything to her. She was a very thoughtful and giving person. She had a great sense of humor, a strong will, a sense of justice, loved to journal, read, and travel. Sabria will be immensely missed by her loving family and friends.
Funeral Arrangements: A resurrection mass will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, 10 a.m., Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church 25585 Berg Road, Southfield, MI 48033.
Interment (Burial) Services: A committal service to immediately follow the requiem mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 25800 W 10 Mile Rd, Southfield, MI 48033
Family will have a memorial luncheon and accept condolences on Friday, October 24, 2025, 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM, at Farmington Hills Manor 23666 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336
