Sakina Renee Glinsey-Johnson entered this life on September 24, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late James V. Glinsey and Carolyn A. Johnson. She departed this life on October 12, 2025. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.
Sakina was a woman of faith who loved attending church on Sundays and Bible study on Wednesdays. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and listening to music. She was also an avid reader who occasionally enjoyed a good book or crossword puzzle. Known for her bright spirit and joyful sense of humor, Sakina loved joking around and uplifting those around her.
She was passionate about spending quality time with her family and was considered by many to be the "life of the party." Her greatest joy came from being with her children and grandchildren. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, she never missed the chance to cheer on her favorite team.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Marvis Glinsey of Elyria; daughters Alexis Glinsey of Elyria, Sateea, and Gieonte Bryant of Georgia; siblings Darryl Johnson, Doretha Glynn, and Toya Glinsey, all of Elyria; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family who will miss her dearly.
Sakina was preceded in death by her parents, James V. Glinsey and Carolyn Johnson; her sister, Lori Walton; cousin, Maurice "Ree" Glinsey; and great-nephew, Montana Glynn.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her loving spirit will live on through those she touched.
Celebration of life services are October 24, 2025, viewing at 10:00 am and celebration of life Service is at 11:00 am at Community Baptist Church, 615 W 24th, Lorain, Ohio. Reverend Rufus Buchanan, Pastor.
