Kevin Triplett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carter Funeral Home, Inc. - Lorain on Sep. 19, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

The Lord Giveth;"

On June 18th, 1967, in Winston County, MS, the portal of goodness opened, and Kevin Darnell Triplett received the breath of life, bringing with

it great joy, and love unto his parents, Ruben, and Walterine "Annie" Triplett. And to the world, a precious caring soul. "Cheekum", spent the

early part of his life in Mississippi, and then his family relocated to Lorain Ohio, where he was educated in the Lorain School system.

"Cheekum", had an ardent love for his mother, and it was displayed in the things that he would do for her, such as placing money under her

pillow, or in her Bible. She was an angel unto him, and he was very protective, and caring of his only sister Tiffany.

"Cheekum", worked for PC Campana Concrete for many years, until he began to work as a CSI for the Elyria Foundry, in 2017.

"Cheekum", favorite saying was, "You know what I'm saying". He loved collecting, and watching movies, but the most cherished moments to him were being with his family and

enjoying the warmth of his children, this was important to him.

"Cheekum" home was his castle. There was nothing that he enjoyed more than being home, and he loved celebrating the Fourth Of July by

shooting off fireworks and firing up the grill to cook his "top tier" ribs. "Cheekum" enjoyed playing spades and dominos, and enjoying the simple

blessings, and gratitudes of life.

"The Lord Taketh Away; "

" 2 Corinthians 5:1 KJV: For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. "

To the sorrow of his love ones, but to the delight of the Heaven's, on September 14th, 2025, the earthly sojourn of Kevin Darnell Triplett,

"Cheekum", came to a pause and he entered into the confines of life eternity, according to the promise of Christ, as it is written in John 14;2, "In

my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

"Cheekum", was reunited in life eternity with his father, Ruben, maternal grandparents, Willie Mae, and Mosby Wilkes and his paternal

grandparents, Tommy & Ruthie Mae "Sis" Triplett.

Although "Cheekum" has returned from whence he cometh, he was deeply loved in life and will be treasured in his absence by his beloved

mother, Walterine "Annie" Triplett, his siblings Eric Triplett, Gerry Triplett, Darius Bullard and Tiffany Bullard, his children Angelique, Durrell,

Joshua, Freddy and Isaac, his grandchildren Aria and Jasiah and his Fiancé Toni Sanchez.

"Blessed be the name of the Lord",

"Cheekum", lived his life his very best, and now the flight of heavenly angels, has taken him, unto his eternal rest. Peace Be Unto Him, now he

belongs to the ages, and to the memories of family, friends, and loved ones.

"XXII. (22) (H) Love is the pleasantness of eternity, It's the river called the Welcome Stream of Life; Eternal is its

loving springs of goodwill, Everlasting is its fields of brilliancy so bright.

XXIII. (23) (T) No love, no name that welcomes us To other bright worlds on high; No love, no fame that takes us

in Where pleasures never die.

XXIV. (24)-1924 – (A) O, get love, is my delight, For love will make me free; If I get love, I must love beget, To

reign in time and eternity."

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday September 24, 2025, from 10am-12pm at Antioch 3035 Toledo Ave Lorain, OH 44055.
