Sally Jo Gooding

Sally Jo Gooding, 81, passed peacefully on July 12, 2021.  She was born in Salem, Oregon on July 31, 1939, to Dr. Robert and Margaret Joseph.  In 1962, she married Theodore John Gooding, a first-year law student and Air Force reserve officer.  She raised their three children, Theodore John Gooding, Jr., Margaret (Gooding) Kennedy and Katherine (Gooding) Scott all over the world in such places as Tripoli, Libya, North Africa; and the Azores, Portugal.  During twenty years in the Air Force, Sally and her family were relocated ten times before Ted retired in 1985.  Sally and Ted finally settled in Golden, CO in 1999 to be near their children.  Sally was active in Osher Life-Long Learning Institute (OLLI), a local convertible car club and the Catholic Church.  She was immensely proud of her family and grandchildren.  They were the center of her life.  She loved entertaining and hosting dinner parties and was known for her killer beef brisket and lasagna.  Sally was the sunshine of our lives and lovingly dubbed "The Warden" by her children.  She was loved by all, and her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, humor, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sally's name to Alzheimer's Association.
