Crestline native and lifelong resident, Sally Jo Ream passed away due to a long illness Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Johnstown Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation, Johnstown, Ohio. She was 86.
Described as a spunky lady who was never afraid to speak her mind, she was unapologetically herself! Sally Jo Ream had fiery personality and a feisty presence.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Crestline. She enjoyed chauffeuring members to their appointments and participating at the fish fries and especially the pancake breakfasts. Sally was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
Sally found peace in simple pleasures - especially sitting on her porch, watching the birds, and greeting people who stopped by.
Sally Jo is survived by her dear sister, Norma Puffenbaugh of Shelby; and her five children, Becky (Brad) Snyder of Bellville, Tina (David) Wright of Columbus, David Ream of Sunbury, James (Sandra) Ream of Bucyrus, and Norma Kaye (Steve) DiCostanzo of Wallingford, Connecticut. She was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and15 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Mae Lance, a brother George(Juney) Parks, and her husband, William Vaughn Allen.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home, Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market Street, Galion. Jim Nickelson will officiate. Friends may call on the family prior to the celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, Crestline.
