Sally Kay Reed, 68, of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her home on November 1, 2025, at 7:23 AM after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia that she fought in secret.

Sally worked for Newaygo Public Schools for 22 years. As Head Cook at Newaygo Elementary School, she looked forward to coming into work each day to feed hundreds of children and see the smiles on their faces after a good meal.

Sally had two great passions: nature and family. If she wasn't working outside and enjoying the wonders of nature, she was inside cooking a home-cooked meal for anyone and everyone who wanted to come. Her hospitality and compassion were truly unparalleled.

Sally was the surviving widow of Thomas Reed and is survived by her three daughters-Allison Reed, Christy Hall, and Jennifer Reed-and their spouses; her three grandchildren-Alexis Hall, Christopher Hall Jr., and Joseph Hall; four great-grandchildren; and her three siblings-Molly Nelson, Evan Force, and Nancy Morgan.

Sally chose to be cremated so she could return to the same forests she loved as a child. There are no additional memorial events planned at this time.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. To those who knew her, Sally was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend-she was a source of comfort, laughter, and strength. Her presence lit up every room, and her absence will be felt in countless hearts. We Love You, Mom!
